    Well spotted, Nevena and Giles; the Latin is becoming more and more execrable, as if the basic text were written by a computer, before the requisite awkward constructions are added. However, it is clearly written out first as a simple piece of English; complexities are then added before it is turned into Latin (presumably to a deadline). However, two decent Latin teachers (one to compose, one to proof/check) could put it together. Moreover, Ceres has to ‘weep’; she cannot ‘groan’ or ‘grieve’, as these words do not appear in the stunted vocabulary list.
