From The University of Sussex …
You are probably very aware that there are more Classics teachers leaving the professional than there are being trained to replace them…
Can you help in beginning to reverse this trend?
Are you able to shape and support the Classics teachers of the future who will bring as much to your department as they will take away?
Would you/your department like to be paid for doing this?
The University of Sussex is looking for new partnership schools and mentors to join our existing schools in hosting placements for our trainee teachers on the Classics PGCE course 2017-18. Over the last three years, many of our trainees have ended up being employed by one of the schools that they were training at. Sussex will provide training and support for mentors new to the programme.
For more information on the Classics PGCE please see – http://www.sussex.ac.uk/education/ite/pgcesecondary/classics
Whilst we are looking for schools/colleges (state and independent) in and around Sussex we also need schools as far west as Portsmouth, north as Oxford/Reading area and east as Hastings.
