9.30 – 9.45: Arrival and coffee

9.45 – 11.00: Introduction to the new GCE and GCSE specifications in Classical Civilisation & Ancient History (Alex Orgee and Caroline Bristow, OCR Subject Specialists – Classics)

11.00 – 11.45: Studying ancient women and the use of scholars in candidate responses (Caroline Bristow, OCR Subject Specialist – Classics)

11.45 – 12.00: Coffee break

12:00 – 1:00: Eduqas: Delivery on the new Latin GCSE specification Teaching strategies: engaging all abilities (Alan Clague, WJEC Subject Officer – Latin)

1:00 – 2.00: Lunch

2.00 – 3.00: Tacitus: Annals I and IV (Dr Ed Bispham, University of Oxford)

3.00 – 4.00: Elegiac Poetry (Dr Elena Theodorakopoulos, University of Birmingham)

4.00 – 4.30: Tea, final questions and departure

The cost of the event is £30 per attendee which can be paid on the day. Receipts can be supplied after the event. Schools do not need to be a member of the Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association to attend.
