CICERO Competition 2018

From the CICERO organisers…

CICERO Latin and Class Civ competition 2018 – Saturday 17 March 2018

This year’s competition for Sixth Form students (S4-S6 in Scotland) will take place on Saturday 17 March 2018. It’s a challenging and engaging competition with plenty of fun, and has three rounds – Latin translation, Cultural Quiz (this year’s topic is plant metamorphosis in Ovid – think Daphne, Narcissus and others!) and a team quiz. Students can take part in the Latin competition and/or the Cultural Competition.

There are three regional centres this year – Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls in Hertfordshire, Bristol Grammar School, and George Heriot’s School in Edinburgh.

Plans for the CICERO competition are coming along. I’m delighted that we will have four centres in the UK this year.

This includes the centre for the North West in Liverpool, details for which can be found below.

  • London (Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls) – if you would like to be involved, contact Emily Tesh (etesh@habsgirls.org.uk)
  • Bristol (Bristol Grammar School) – if you would like to be involved, contact Andy Keen (akeen@bgs.bristol.sch.uk)
