The CA Teaching Board is launching a new teacher awards scheme.
The invitation to nominate is on their website here and on CA social media. Nominations can be made online here or by downloading a Word version of the form and emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org by the closing date, 26 February.
The awards aim to recognise outstanding teaching and/or innovative pre-university education initiatives. Up to five prizes of £500 each will be awarded annually to individuals or school/college-based projects whose work is felt to have had a significant and positive impact on the teaching of Classics in the UK. Nominations will generally fall into one of the following categories, although nominations on other grounds are welcome:
- Lifetime achievement
- Outstanding new teacher (in teaching for up to three years)
- Innovative pedagogy
- Making Classics more inclusive
- Outstanding state sector initiative
- Promoting the study of the ancient world in schools/FE
