Classics Abroad 2021 Summer Courses – Challenge the Canon

Applications are now open for Classics Abroad 2021 Online (26th – 30th July) and in Florence (1st – 8th August), our summer course exploring classical antiquity through the art, literature and history of Florence.

This year, the theme is ‘Challenge the Canon’ as we explore questions such as: How were ancient texts and artwork discovered? Who has been included in, and excluded from, the Canon? How was myth translated into art?

There are also languages (Latin, Italian) and experiences (Ancient Spiced Wine Workshop) which you can add on to your week.

Who can attend? We welcome applications from school-leavers, university students, teachers and any interested individuals keen to question and expand their interests in Classics and the city of Florence.
