Two full days of intensive Latin Language learning and consolidation in direct preparation for the GCSE examinations in the summer. Candidates will be coming to the end of Year 11 and will be readying themselves for examination. We will be revisiting aspects of the language specification that students generally find difficult, like the indirect statement, the ablative absolute, and the uses of the subjunctive. These set-pieces feature in every GCSE examination paper and it is important that the grammatical knowledge of them is secure. We will look at these constructions in isolation, and then also disguised in unseen passages of Latin, GCSE past papers, where they can be more difficult to identify.
