SUMMARY:Study Day for Teachers on AS Latin Set Texts: 24th June 2014
DESCRIPTION:The day will begin at 10.00am with a session on Ovid Metamorphoses 3 given by Dr Matthew Robinson and Dr Joy Littlewood\, with a break for coffee in the middle. After lunch at 12.30\, we will recommence at 13.15 with a session on Cicero’s De Imperio\, given by Dr Jonathan Prag and Dr Andrew Sillett. This session will also include a short break\, and will conclude at about 15.30.\n\n\nThe day will provide an opportunity to study the texts in some detail\, and hear about some of the latest research that will be relevant to our teaching. The intention is that the day will be seminar like\, so that speakers have asked that we bring texts and (ideally) come with our own ideas on them.\n\nThe cost of the day will be £20 which will cover the cost of lunch. Parking will be available\, but further details will be given to those who book places.\n\nIf you would like to book a place (places will be limited to 30)\, please follow the link below.\n\nhttp://www.shsk.org.uk/Home/Book-Event.aspx?ID=478&ReturnURL=Main-event-booking.aspx\n\nPlease email David Hodgkinson\, Head of Classiscs at School of St Helen and St Katharine\, Abingdon\, for further information (email: dhodgkinson@shsk.org.uk).\n\nI hope that you will be able to join us\, and look forward to meeting you again. Should there be any questions\, please do email me.
