DESCRIPTION:News of this forthcoming production\, from Yana Zarifi-Sistovari\, the Artistic Director… \nThiasos Theatre company is performing the Hippolytos at The Cockpit Theatre in London 24-27th February. \nThe Hippolytos was first presented at the Triennial Classics Conference held at Cambridge University in 1998 and had toured in several countries up to 2004.  This ‘revival’ was prompted by an invitation to Iran’s Fadjr Theatre Festival which was postponed for 2016 (as they did not give us enough time to replace the female singer/dancers of our production with males…).  This production will feature an all dancing/singing chorus (singing in the original Greek)\, an English narration and scenes performed in full (Balinese) masks. \nWe have also been invited to perform in Warsaw and in Gardzienice in Poland this May. \nEdith Hall is appearing in conversation with the Artistic Director (me) on February the 26th after the interval which we hope will attract students and others interested in Greek theatre performance. \nMore information \n
