Speakers will include Natalie Haynes\, Stephen Harrison\, Stephen Heyworth\, Rebecca Armstrong\, Matthew Robinson\, Sophie Schoess and John Godwin. \nDetails of topics below\, but please get in touch with Edmund at hunte@stedwardsoxford.org if you’d like to hear more. \n\n\n\nSpeakers\nTopics\n\n\nRebecca Armstrong\nOvid and his Loves\n\n\nJohn Godwin\nThe Heroides\n\n\nNatalie Haynes\nOvid for the modern generation\n\n\nStephen Harrison\nOvid and Song\n\n\nStephen Heyworth\nThe Metamorphoses\n\n\nSophie Schoess\nVisions of Ariadne\n\n\n\n  \nThis event is designed both to commemorate and celebrate the life and works of Ovid – with the possible pretext that his death might have occurred 2000 years ago next academic year! All the speakers are excellent and the Conference as a whole will look specifically at the set texts for 2017-18 but also explore the poet’s larger influence on modern culture.
