DESCRIPTION:The Birmingham and Midlands branch of the Classical Association invites\nyou to their Texts & Topics Sixth Form Conference on Thursday 3rd July\n2025\, hosted at King Edward’s School\, Birmingham.\n\n \n\nThis in-person event for A level students and a range of engaging relevant\ntopics from Latin\, Greek\, Classical Civilisation\, and Ancient History will be\noffered by university academics and subject specialists.\n\n\n\n \nProgramme and Further Information\n\n\n \n\nThe day will begin with registration from 9:00am\, followed by a keynote\nlecture at 10:00am by Dr Elena Theodorakopoulos (University of\nBirmingham) on Virgil and Augustus.\n\n \n\nStudents will then participate in parallel sessions tailored to A level content\,\nincluding: Tacitus\, Annals\, Cicero\, Pro Caelio\, Greek Theatre\, The World of\nHomer\, Archaeology and inscriptions workshops and workshop on revision\ntips and student-led discussions. There will be an opportunity to visit the\ncampus of the University of Birmingham during lunchtime break.\n\n \n\nThe day concludes with a talk from Dr Emily Hauser on Women of the\nHomeric World.
