DESCRIPTION:Saturday 3rd October\, 11am-5pm.\n\n \nMore information and to book\n \n\nProfessor Ingo Gildenhard will lead a line up of academics to discuss ways of teaching Dido in conjunction with his recent companion volumes (Aeneid 4 and Teaching Dido)\n\n \n\n10:30: Registration and Coffee\n\n \n\n11–11:45: ‘Dido’s Voice’ (Elena Giusti)\n\n \n\n11:45–12:00: Q&A with Elena Giusti on ‘Rac(ializ)ing Dido’\n\n \n\n12–12:15: Refreshment Break\n\n \n\n12:15–1: ‘In Search of Lost Didos’ (Sam Agbamu)\n\n \n\n1–2: Lunch Break (catered)\n\n \n\n2–2:45: ‘Tears Translated: The Passions of Aeneid 4 in English’ (Jessi Glueck)\n\n \n\n2:45–3:15: Coffee Break\n\n \n\n3:15–4:00: Series of stimuli talks (c. 5–10 minutes) by participants on ‘Dido/Virgil in the classroom: ideas and experiences’ (with Ingo Gildenhard)\n\n \n\n4–4:30: Final Thoughts\n\n \n\nThis CPD event is part of a series stretching back to 2015\, which is designed to energise the teaching of Classics at all levels by fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences between schools and universities and combining cutting-edge scholarship with pedagogical initiatives\n\n \n\nWho is the event for?\n\n \n\nAll teachers and trainee teachers are welcome to attend.
