DESCRIPTION:The Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association \nSome dates for your diaries: \nThursday 11 October 2018\, 5.30pm\, the University of Birmingham \nThe Autumn Lecture: Dr Amy Russell (Durham)\, ‘Augustus\, the Senate and the Ara Pacis’ \nThursday 7 February 2019\, 5.30pm\, the University of Birmingham \nThe New Year Lecture: Dr Hannah Cornwell (Birmingham)\, ‘Rome’s Civil Wars: Violent Words and Bloody Deeds (TBC)’ \nSaturday 2 February 2019: BMCA Teachers’ Day\, the University of Birmingham \nWe are currently planning the programme for our popular Teachers’ Day. We are thinking about having sessions on Democracy\, Love and Relationships\, and the Late Roman Republic\, as well as a plenary lecture on Augustus and the Aeneid\, and hearing from both OCR and Eduqas about summer 2018 exams. \nIf there is any topic or subject area that people feel they would like covered please let us know by contacting Joanna Johnson (johnsonj@solsch.org.uk). \nThe cost of the day will be £50 (including lunch) and there will be bursaries available for teachers working in state schools and student teachers. \nLooking forward to seeing you at our events. \nThe BMCA
