DESCRIPTION:In the words of Polly Caffrey\, Head of Classics at Bradfield…\n\n \n\n“We are bringing our Greek play back into line with the Oxford –Bradfield- Cambridge triennial and putting on “Alcestis” in June 2019\, a mere two years on from Persae 2017.\n\n \n\nAs you would expect from Euripides there will be something for everyone (laughter\, tears\, ott masks\, etc) but a special highlight will be the solo songs and the Kommos reconstructed by Prof Armand D’Angour especially for the production\, with Barnaby Brown playing the reconstructed ancient double aulos (alongside splendid Victorian choral music from the 1887 Oxford “Alcestis” by C H Lloyd\, a pupil of Parry).”

SUMMARY:FREE Latin Training for Teachers\, with Classics for All
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 26th June 2019\, 12:30 – 5pm\nPutney High School\n35 Putney Hill\, Putney\, London\, SW15 6BH\n\nClassics for All is delighted to be working with Putney High School\, who will be hosting our Latin Training afternoon this year.\n\n \n\nThere will be 3 Levels of sessions catered for: Beginner\, Intermediate and GCSE.  The focus for Beginner and Intermediate levels is subject knowledge\, although I am sure there will be some discussion of pedagogy as needed.  The GCSE level will cover the teaching of Language and Literature.  If there is enough interest\, we could consider adding an A Level Latin group too.\nIf you would like to attend this training afternoon or have any questions\, please email anna@classicsforall.org.uk\, letting me know what level you would like to be in.  Please also let me know what you would like to get out of the afternoon and what you would like to learn\, so that I can pass this information on to the trainers.  It then makes the afternoon more beneficial to you\, and helps the trainers prepare for the sessions.\n\n \n\nIf you are unsure of your level\, please get in touch and let me know what experience and knowledge you have and I would be happy to advise you on which level might be best.\n\n \n\nAn optional sandwich lunch will be provided on arrival\, and sessions will start around 1:15.  There will be a chance for a general teach-meet at the end of the afternoon until 5pm\, with refreshments provided.
