DESCRIPTION:Hellenic Society & Roman Society Online Course\n \nSam Newington\n \nExploring the World of Sappho\n \n\nWednesday 16\, 23\, 30 September\, 7\, 14 October\, 6pm-7.30pm (UK time)\n\n \n\nThis course will offer an introduction to Sappho and explore the inspirational poetic works of this poetess from Lesbos. The weekly focus of the course will be as follows: i. introduction to Sappho and the cultural landscape\, ii. poetic competition: comparative with archaic poetry\, iii. female voice and sexuality\, iv. myth and sensory reflections and\, v.
