JOB | Teacher of Classics, St Olave’s Grammar School, Orpington

Teacher of Classics

Full time September 2019

Outer London remuneration

St. Olave’s Grammar School is an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ forward-looking selective Church of England school where academic standards are very high, rivalling the best schools in the country; our naturally able and inquisitive pupils are a delight to teach. The school prioritises the wellbeing, dignity and morale of its staff and pupils, actively investing in CPD as we very much feel that people make our environment.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational graduate to join us as a Teacher of Classics. Applicants must be able to teach Latin and Classical Civilisation up to and including A Level (GCSE Classical Civilisation is not taught). Greek is not essential, but is greatly desirable as it is often taught off timetable. The opportunity to teach up to the highest academic levels is possible at this school.

This position would suit a newly qualified teacher or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their teaching experience. A willingness to be an active contributor to our extensive co-curricular provision would also be an advantage.

Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and St. Olave’s Grammar School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
