The Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association Christmas Social

The Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association Christmas Social
On Tuesday 6 December at 6pm, the Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association will be holding a Christmas Social, in the Archaeology Museum, in the Arts Building.
Meagan Mangum, one of the leading Greek Archaeologists at the University of Birmingham, will be holding a Greek vase handling session, using the many vases that are in the Archaeology Museum, based in the Department of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology. This will be an excellent opportunity to explore these artefacts up close and maybe even learn something new about the world of Classics!
After the handling session, there will be Christmas drinks and nibbles, and a chance to network and socialise with other Classics teachers, as well as academics from the Department.
Tickets for this event will be £10, which can be paid on the day and should be covered by your school’s INSET budget. Please email Joanna Johnson on johnsonj@solsch.org.uk to book a place, and to allow us to confirm numbers for the event.
Not only will this be an enjoyable way to mark the end of the term and Christmas, but also the chance to explore an aspect of the Ancient World that is often unavailable to people.
We do hope that you will be able to come along.
