Join British Museum staff and expert guest speakers for presentations which will support A level students studying Classical Civilisation and Ancient History.
Students will have the opportunity to visit the Luxury and Power; Persia and Greece exhibition during the school exclusive morning session between 10.00 and 12.00.
Presentations in the BP lecture theatre 12.00 – 15.30:
- Trousers: Persian luxury and Greek revulsion: Professor Lloyd Llewellyn Jones (Cardiff University)
- Focus on the Parthenon with Thomas Harrison (Keeper, Ancient Greece and Rome, British Museum)
- Find out more about the lives of women in early Persian society with Vesta Curtis (Curator, British Museum)
- Fake news: looking at Persia through Greek eyes in the 5th century BC with Jamie Fraser (Curator, British Museum)

This event is aimed at A-level students aged 16+. Year 11 pupils who are interested in extending their knowledge and considering studying the relevant subjects at A-level are also welcome.
This event is for UK schools and Home Educators only. Students must be accompanied by a member of school staff. Home educated students are welcome with an attending adult but please note we are unable to accommodate younger siblings.
