Greek Play Workshop 2013
Wednesday 6th March, 2.45-4.30pm
This year the University of Liverpool Drama Society will be performing a new adaptation of Sophocles, Oedipus Rex on the evenings of 6th-8th March (flyer attached). In association with the play, there will be a workshop for Year 8 and 9 students on Wednesday 6th March, from 2.45pm-4.30pm. There will be a short introductory talk about Greek tragedy by Dr Fiona Hobden from the Archaeology, Classics & Egyptology at the University, followed by an hour-long physical theatre workshop with the play’s director and members of the cast. No previous knowledge of Greek drama is required.
The cost is £3 per student, payable when booking (please note that a responsible adult must accompany students throughout the workshop).
Tickets for the play itself are available on the door on the night, and school groups are welcome at any of the performances: if bringing a group or for further information about the play, please get in touch with Amy Coker in the first instance.
