EMACT ART COMPETITION 2025 on the theme of OVID’S METAMORPHOSES

Are you an artist with a passion for mythology and transformation? We are looking for creative entries that explore Ovid’s Metamorphoses in a visually interesting way. This can include a painting, a drawing, a photograph, or a photography series. The competition is open for students in KS2-KS5.

Deadline for submissions: Monday 23 June 2025.

THE THEME: Ovid’s Metamorphoses has been a profound influence on art for centuries, providing artists with a rich tapestry of mythological stories filled with dramatic transformations, emotions, and symbolism. From We invite you to interpret these ancient tales through your unique artistic lens.
THE MEDIUM: You can choose any medium you think would best support your interpretation of the theme, from pencil to collage, oil, watercolour, ink, or photography. We are looking forward to seeing where your creativity takes you.
THE TEXT: Alongside your art piece, you need to submit up to 500-word description of your work explaining how it links to the theme and your vision. This will help your audience understand what they are seeing.
THE CATEGORIES AND PRIZES: There are four categories (KS2-KS5) in this competition, with three prizes per category – a winner and two runners-up. There are £500 to share among the winners.
