There are still a few spaces available in our ARLT Summer school for Classics teachers in beautiful Wales. Below is all the information you need before heading to our website to sign up and secure your spot, but here are some key points:
- This is our 102nd Summer School: come and discover why teachers keep returning year after year!
- CPD delivered by teachers for teachers, meaning it is relevant and actionable, and you get a sneak peek at what others do in their classrooms
- The price is accessible, and many schools will be able to subsidise your attendance. Alternatively, we offer bursaries; please do not let the cost be a barrier!
If you would like to see what new teachers said about last year’s event, head to our Facebook group where the conversation is taking place. We are looking forward to welcoming you!

INSET FOR CLASSICS TEACHERS
What is the ARL Summer School for Classics teachers?
The ARLT Summer School for Classics teachers is a residential CPD course and networking event that brings together teachers at all stages of their careers. Every year, practising teachers, PGCE students and prospective teachers, as well as experienced retired teachers, meet to celebrate their love for Latin, Greek and all things Classics.
From option groups led by teachers for teachers, to lectures, trips and even a Latin speaking table at lunch, every teacher has an opportunity to learn and share their knowledge in a friendly and welcoming environment.
The venue:
Haberdashers’ Monmouth School, St Catherine’s campus (former girls’ school site)
We shall be based in the 6th form girls’ boarding house, with classrooms, lecture hall, dining room and sports facilities all in close proximity.
The school is a short walk from the town centre. Accommodation is mostly in single ensuite study bedrooms.
