A free screening of rare silent films set in ancient Greece and Rome accompanied by live music. Through gesticulation and look, exotic sets and costumes, colour, music and movement, these films draw their audiences into an ancient world where life is lived passionately and to an extreme. Introduced by Pantelis Michelakis (University of Bristol) and Maria Wyke (UCL).
