‘Art, text, and history in the Alexandrian Mosaic from Pompeii’

Notting Hill and Ealing High School Classics Society will be hosting a talk on Tuesday 28th of Janaury at 4.30pm. Professor Bert Smith, Lincoln College, Oxford will be speaking on:

Art, text, and history in the Alexandrian Mosaic from Pompeii

alexanderProf. Bert Smith is a member of the Faculty of Classics and of the School of Archaeology at Oxford  and lectures on classical art and archaeology. He is also the Curator of the Cast Gallery of the Ashmolean Museum. No specific knowledge of Latin and/or Greek will be required and it is a good opportunity for students to experience a lecture from a leading academic.

The talk will be in the Sixth Form Centre at Notting Hill and Ealing High School. Tea and biscuits will be served from 4pm. The event will finish around 5.30pm. There is no charge.
