Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association Teachers’ Day – Saturday 7 February 2015
We would like to invite you to our annual Teachers’ Day on Saturday 7 February 2015.
The programme for the day will be as follows:
10:00 – 10:15 Arrival and coffee
10:15 – 12:15 Meeting Examiners’ expectations: Presentation and Q&A session with an experienced examiner (led by Robert Grant, Head of Classics, Nottingham High School)
12:15- 1:00 Teaching strategies: engaging all abilities (led by Frances Child, Director of Initial Teacher Training, King Edward’s Consortium)
1:00- 1:45 Lunch
1:45-2.30 Using material culture in the classroom: an artefact handling session (led by Meagan Mangum, postgraduate, University of Birmingham)
2:30-3:30 Roman Women: Dress and Identity (Dr Mary Harlow, University of Leicester)
The day will be held at the University of Birmingham and the cost for the day is £50 per person which represents excellent value for money!
