Classical Association Teaching Board INSET day on A-level Classical Civilisation (Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University, 10 am – 4pm, Saturday 18th February)
AQA’s decision to discontinue Classical Civilisation at A-level means that OCR is now the sole examination board offering the subject.

Teachers in schools and colleges across the UK have made it clear to the CATB that there is a need for training in the form of subject-specific talks and workshops on the specifications. The CATB has stepped up to the mark to offer an INSET day for teachers of Classical Civilisation at A-level.
Workshops and talks will be offered by academics with expertise in areas of the specifications and by experienced schoolteachers; OCR will be contributing to the event. We welcome offers of workshops and talks on the subject of the specifications (Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey; Virgil’s Aeneid; Greek theatre; Imperial image; Invention of the Barbarian; Greek art, Greek religion, Love and Relationships; Late Republican Politics; Athenian Democracy).
The event is supported by the Classical Association Teaching Board and Manchester Metropolitan University.
