Classical Civilisation Study Day, Brentwood School

12 February 2019

Brentwood School will be hosting a Classical Civilisation Study Day on Tuesday 12th February, 2019.

The day is tailored for students of OCR Classical aCivilisation A level, and in particular we hope that it will help to provide secondary quotes from the speakers.

The day will begin with registration and coffee from 9.30am, with the first lecture at 10am.
It will include lectures from Peter Jones & Edith Hall for all students, with an optional session where students will be able to choose between a Politics session or Love and Relationships. There will also be a seminar after the World of the Hero lecture.

Our confirmed speakers are:

  • Peter Jones: The World of the Hero
  • Edith Hall: Greek Tragedy
  • Kathryn Tempest: Politics in the Late Republic
  • Armand D’Angour: Love and Relationships

The order of the day is in the final planning stages.

The event is absolutely FREE and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
If you would like to attend, please email me via zkf@brentwood.essex.sch.uk by Monday 14th January, letting me know:
– how many students and staff you will be bringing
– if your students will attend the Politics or Love and Relationships lecture in this option session.
