Talk by Professor Ian Rutherford from the University of Reading

at the East Oxford Community Classics Centre

Professor Rutherford will be delivering an introduction to aspects of magical practice in the ancient world. It will look at the influence of Egyptian belief and explore the evidence which exists for magic, such as spells, magical papyri, and amulets, amongst many other things.
