After a long interruption due to Covid, this unique and exciting event is making its return.
It will take place on the 27th March 2024 and last time we had over 25 schools taking place. It will be great to get as many schools as possible on board.
Wishing to keep it simple, please see below some of main rules of the competition.
This event will open for KS3 (ideally Year 7-8) students and promises delightful surprises and valuable prizes from esteemed authors and organizations in the classics field. It is also a day of celebration, uniting schools in their reverence for Latin.
Each school is required to conduct knock-out rounds within their institutions, based on vocabulary booklets provided to them. Each school will select the top 5 students who will represent their school in the big final. It is essential to adhere strictly to the specified group number to ensure equitable scoring among all participating schools.
The spelling bee will focus on CLC book 1 and Suburani up to chapter 10. A special vocabulary booklet has been designed and it will be sent to those schools, once confirmation is received.
Participation fees for each school are set at £35.
