Sixth Form Conference
9 March 2013
£2.50 – £5

The Birmingham and Midlands Classical Association is delighted to announce the details of its upcoming Sixth Form Conference, to be held on Saturday 9th March 2013 at the University of Birmingham.
We have tried to make this event as relevant as possible for the A/AS Level Latin and Classical Civilisation syllabuses, bringing together experts from across the country to talk to your pupils on what we hope will prove to be an invaluable day of Classical learning.
Our programme for the day is as follows:
9.45am – Welcome and introduction to the Conference
Session 1
Latin: Cicero – TBC
Vase handling session – Laura Snook
Session 2
Latin: Tacitus – Rhiannon Ash
Greek Tragedy – Felix Budelmann
Session 3
Latin: Ovid – Elena Theodorakopoulos
Roman Epic – Llewelyn Morgan
Plenary
Epic and Hollywood – Liz Gloyn
1pm Finish
As you can see, Latin and Classical Civilisation classes run concurrently throughout the morning before both groups come back together for the plenary.
To register your pupils for the event or if you have any further questions, please send me an email: pxs502@bham.ac.uk
The cost of the event will be £5 per pupil, with a reduced rate of £2.50 per state school pupil.
Many thanks and I look forward to seeing as many of you and your pupils there as possible!
Polly Toney.
