A heartbreak spanning centuries. What is love? Do soulmates really exist? Join Alcibiades in crashing one of the most famous dinner parties you’ll ever come across as Plato redefines what it means to be beautiful. Age guidance: 15+ Running time: approx 2 hours
Evening performances on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th will include a pre-show talk in the theatre (included in the ticket). Thursday 9th, 6.45-7.15pm Dr Frisbee Scheffield (Cambridge) ‘Platonic love: Lessons from the Symposium’ Friday 10th, 6.45-7.15pm Professor Edith Hall (Durham) ‘What has Plato’s Symposium got to do with theatre? Pre-show talks will be filmed – by buying a ticket you give permission to be filmed for this purpose.
