Why are ancient Greek men (almost) always naked?

27 February 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Dr Peter Thonemann (Oxford)

Monday 27th February, 4-5pm, room 35

Why are ancient Greek men
(almost) always naked?

From pots to sculptures, temples to wall paintings, the ancient Greeks loved to depict the male body in its entirety. But why did they take this approach to their art? Dr Thonemann will lead us through current academic thought on the matter.

Hosted at Camden School for Girls, NW5 2DB.
