‘Women and Power’ with classicist Mary Beard (speaker) and musicians Nardus Williams (soprano) and Elizabeth Kenny (archlute, theorbo) at Wigmore Hall

8 March @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Wigmore Hall’s upcoming event for International Women’s Day is ‘Women and Power’ with classicist Mary Beard (speaker) and musicians Nardus Williams (soprano) and Elizabeth Kenny (archlute, theorbo).
The title ‘Women and Power’ originates from Mary Beard’s book of the same name which explores how history has treated powerful women, tracing the origins of misogyny back to the ancient world through to the modern day. The programme includes women-composed music and poetry, interweaving music with discussion on topics ranging from Sappho to women’s solidarity. The concert takes place on Sunday 8th March at 7.30pm with £5 tickets for under 35s. Visit Wigmore Hall’s site for more information and to book. See also WH’s FAQ and Access pages.
