Classical Drama Day at Oxford – Wednesday 18th of February 2015

If you are a teacher/student and from English/Drama/Classics subject background then you might be interested in the following opportunity.
The Faculty of Classics at Oxford University and the School of English at University of Leicester are offering a chance for teachers and students to participate in a classical drama day.
The day will consist of two events, one will be on ‘Teaching Classical Drama’ aimed at teachers from UK schools, speakers will include:
- Judith Affleck, Head of Classics at King Edward VI School
- Gesine Manuwald, Professor of Latin at University of London College
- Sarah Knight, Senior Lecturer in Renaissance Europe, University of Leicester
- Helen Slaney, British Academy Post-Doctoral Fellow, University of Oxford
The second event will be on ‘Learning Classical Drama’ aimed at Year 11 to Year 13 students from UK schools, which will include the following: talks on ancient drama by academics, a student’s experience, and a guided tour of the Ashmolean Museum.
Both events will take place on Wednesday 18th of February 2015, at the Faculty of Classics, Ioannou Centre.

The day is FREE to attend, but numbers are limited to 60 (teachers + students), and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
