St. Mary’s College, Crosby is proud to present Oedipus the King. Following in the footsteps of the school’s previous sell out successes such as Medea, Antigone, Ajax and Trojan Women, St. Mary’s is proud to be back on stage with Sophocles’ great masterpiece.
Featuring live music and dance as well as superb acting this is a school production like no other. The play follows Oedipus as he battles to save his city from a plague. In order to do so he must rid it of pollution – little does he know that the pollution he seeks is him.
Niall Martindale plays the title role with Evie Clark playing his wife Jocasta leading a cast of 40 actors and musicians.
