Wigmore Hallâs upcoming event for International Womenâs Day is âWomen and Powerâ with classicist Mary Beard (speaker) and musicians Nardus Williams (soprano) and Elizabeth Kenny (archlute, theorbo).

The title âWomen and Powerâ originates from Mary Beardâs book of the same name which explores how history has treated powerful women, tracing the origins of misogyny back to the ancient world through to the modern day.
The programme includes women-composed music and poetry, interweaving music with discussion on topics ranging from Sappho to womenâs solidarity.
The concert takes place on Sunday 8th March at 7.30pm with £5 tickets for under 35s.
Visit Wigmore Hallâs site for more information and to book.
